Methodology
The 7 pillars of pricing
Engine & hours
TTSN, SMOH, hours remaining against TBO. Close to overhaul means a heavy discount. The single most decisive factor in pricing.
Avionics
Glass cockpit against analog, ADS-B Out, IFR certification, modern autopilot. G1000/G3000 adds 10-25% over analog.
History
Accidents, structural repairs, gaps in the records. A major incident can take 40% off the value. The costliest invisible factor.
Structural condition
Airframe integrity, corrosion, fatigue, compliance with ADs. Drives how fast the aircraft sells and whether it can be financed.
Cosmetics
Paint, interior, ergonomics. Shapes perceived value and time on the market. New paint can be worth R$30-80k of investment.
Year & depreciation
The Brazilian curve: heavy depreciation over the first 8 years, then it settles. Scarcity and the exchange rate hold the floor near 45% of factory value.
FX & market
Exchange rate swings move the value of imported aircraft directly. Market timing, supply and demand and ANAC regulation also enter the calculation.
